Annual HGV Testing for Evesham Produce Hauliers
Produce haulage does not have a slow year, it has a slow month — and a test that lands in the wrong week costs several times what the same test costs in the right one. Evesham is about twenty miles from our lane at Aston Fields, up the A46 and on to the M5. That is far enough that the journey ought to earn its place, so make it in the quiet part of your calendar and get the inspection, the test and anything that needs doing out of the way together.

Why Evesham operators test with us
Agricultural and produce work is the most seasonal haulage there is: for a few weeks the vehicles run every hour they legally can, and for the rest of the year there is room to breathe. Nothing about the annual test cares about that, but we can. Tell us when your peak falls and we will aim the booking away from it. Season also means early starts, which puts the work on to the lights rather than the daylight — a headlight check alongside the test is worth having then, rather than finding out about it on a dark morning in the middle of the run. And because the workshop sits next to the lane, twenty miles is a journey you make once: whatever is found is quoted here and put right here, and the vehicle is back on your yard the same day wherever we can manage it.
HGV MOT questions from Evesham
How far is it from Evesham, honestly?
About twenty miles, on the A46 and then the M5. It is not around the corner and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What you get for the run is a DVSA lane and a full commercial workshop on one site, so the test does not turn into a second trip somewhere else a fortnight later.
Can you book us in outside the busy weeks?
Tell us the weeks you cannot afford to lose and we will work around them. That is far easier to do if you ring 01527 870400 well before the expiry date, while there is still a choice of dates to move about.
Our trailers stand idle over the winter. Does that matter?
It often matters more than hard use. A trailer that has stood for months can come back with seized brakes, corroded lighting and tyres that have gone out of shape, and none of that improves on the way here. Bring it in before the season starts rather than during it, and anything found gets fixed on site. If it does fail, a trailer retest is charged separately and costs a good deal less than a full test.
Can you come to us if a vehicle goes down mid-season?
We run breakdown assistance and mobile repair. Ring 01527 870400 and you will get a straight answer about whether we can reach you and roughly when — in the middle of a peak an honest no is more use than an optimistic yes.
